Youth Football and Cheer
The Windsor Knights organization not only prides itself on teaching the fundamentals of football and cheerleading, but instilling the values of discipline, respect, hard work, goal setting, success, winning, and most importantly, having FUN!
The Windsor Knights were founded in 1990. We are a Redwood Police Activity League program and a founding member of the North Bay Youth Football and Cheer Association. The Knights have sent talented football and cheer squads to the playoffs and competitions every year. Each team practices on local football fields, and play their home games at Windsor High School.
The Windsor Knights recognize how youth football and cheer are great opportunities to develop players and cheerleaders who may be interested in playing football or cheering at the high school level. We are committed to working hard to build a strong football and cheer community, including holding camps in the summer that focus on skill development in preparation for the upcoming season. The Town of Windsor has many great athletes, and we are excited to provide the coaching and mentoring that will prepare players and cheerleaders to be successful in the years to come.
Please review the chart below regarding modification made to the age/weights for football players for the 2022 season. A player's weight and team assignment must be finalized by the beginning of the season which is currently scheduled to begin in late July 2022. Players will be assigned to levels based solely on their age as of 8/1/22. Younger players may move up to a higher level if signed off by parent(s) and Association President. If designated as an "X-man," the player must remain as an X-man for the entire season.
Windsor Knights Youth Football and Cheer allows football players that are as young as the age of 6. Therefore, if your child was born from 08/02/2015 to 08/01/2016 they are eligible to register as a 6 year old and play on the 8U team.
As many of you are very aware, our most current state COVID-19 guidelines have changed. The Windsor Knights Football and Cheer program is working with the Windsor High School Athletic Program to establish COVID-19 protocols for youth sports. This will now affect our program in the following ways:
Our coaching staff will reinforce, model and communicate these protocols to continue to provide the best possible experience for our athletes during the football and cheer season. We appreciate your support in all our efforts and your support for your athlete.
We will update our protocols and inform our families when we receive any updates from Windsor High School, CIF, CDPH or our county health department.
Thank you
Windsor Knights Board
